ABOUT ME:
I live on the coast with my husband and golden retriever Lily. I often find inspiration writing in the beach hut or strolling along the water’s edge.
I started off as a singer but touring England and Europe, took me away so much from the man I loved. So I went back to University and studied psychology which became a major passion. But still even on tour or treating clients I would always find time to scribble something down.
The idea for Phobic Dawn came from my work. As a psychologist I treated people for neuroses and phobias. Phobias can be shocking, destroying a person’s life, their relationships, careers and self-confidence. I initially think of writing up fictitious cases based loosely on the conditions I treated but found it needed more than just an account. I then hit on the idea of a policeman having a phobia – the flawed hero. As I have fear of snakes, I wondered how he would cope if he had to work with the snakes in a murder investigation. It developed from there.
Dam Good Publishing discovered the book on the writers site Authonomy.
